We use personal data for the following purposes:
- Name and contact details - To inform you of news and information about events, activities and services within the PCC of Mark’s Church, Lache Saltney and the Diocese of Chester.
- To include your details in the Church Directory.
- To fundraise and promote the interests of the charity;
- To enable us to provide a voluntary service for the benefit of the public in a particular geographical area as specified in our constitution;
- To maintain our own accounts and records (including the processing of gift aid applications)
- To manage our employees and volunteers;
- The categories of personal data we collect are:
- Name and contact details
- Visual images: photographs, video, live streaming. Images/videos may be used to publicise further events or in publications by St. Mark’s Church.
- The lawful basis for processing your personal data
- Consent – we obtain your consent to send you information about church news, events, activities and services
- Legal obligation – we are required by law to collect and process data for weddings, funerals, baptisms etc
- Processing is necessary for carrying out legal obligations in relation to Gift Aid or under employment.

Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential and will only be shared with the PCC of St. Mark’s Church, Lache Saltney and with other church members via the church directory. We will only share your data with third parties outside of the parish with your consent.

- Your rights and your personal data
Unless subject to an exemption under the UK GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data: -
- The right to request a copy of the personal data which The PCC of Mark’s Church, Lache Saltney holds about you (a Subject Access Request or ‘SAR’);
- The right to request that the PCC corrects any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date;
- The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for The PCC of Mark’s Church, Lache Saltney to retain such data;
- The right to withdraw your consent to the processing at any time where we have obtained your consent;
- The right to request that the data controller provide you with your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. Also, to transmit that data directly to another data controller (in limited circumstances).

The Diocese of Chester partners with thirtyone:eight and you can access their Safeguarding Helpline if the Diocesan Safeguarding Team is unavailable. Thirtyone:eight can be contacted on 0303 003 1111.
This also includes any safeguarding queries outside of office hours on weekdays and weekends. An Information Sharing Agreement between the two organisations will allow the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser to receive a copy of the advice thirtyone:eight may offer the caller.
