WORK AMONG CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
The recent history of the Parish has seen a growth in the number of families and young people. However, we have many families, children and youth living in the Parish, the majority of whom are from homes which have had little contact with the worship of the Church for two generations or more.
In only a few years more, the proportion of the 'unchurched' in our population will be even higher than it is now. The challenge to the Church in the new Millennium will be to find new ways of 'being' and 'doing' Church in order to share the Christian message in ways that people will relate to their lives now.
On Sundays, our children's work runs alongside our 10.45 am Church Worship each week, in groups ranging from Crèche (0-3 years), Scramblers (3-5 years), Climbers (5-8 years), Explorers (8-11 years) and Pathfinders (11-14 years).
Our
youth fellowship, CYFA (14-18 years), meets on Sunday evenings
at 8.15 p.m. for its own teaching and fellowship.
