THE MONDAY AND FRIDAY PRAYER GROUP meets at St. Mark's each week from 6.45-8am. You are most welcome to join us as we pray for the church and especially its services.

WE ARE HOLDING A MEETING THIS TUES 9 th AT 7.30pm IN THE LINK TO PLAN THE SATURDAY EVENT – EVERYONE IS VERY WELCOME TO COME TO THIS MEETING AND TO HAVE AN INPUT. If you would like to contribute towards the COLLECTION for Trevor and Elaine please leave your gift in a labelled envelope on Maggie's desk no later than Sunday 28 th March. Thank you.

 

‘LandLubbers Holiday Club' 29 TH March to 2 nd April here at St Mark's for Children aged 5 to 11 years - 10am to 12.30pm, £3 for the week - anyone interested in joining the team, please attend the TEAM MEETING ON MON 15 TH MARCH AT 7.30PM. THIS WILL ALSO BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY FOR THE CLUB. BOOKING FORMS NOW AVAILABLE ON THE LINK TABLE! Ahoy there!

 

CHURCH CLEANING DAY ON SATURDAY 20 th MARCH 9.30-1pm. Please sign up in the Link. If you can do some of the time rather than all of the morning, that is still very helpful! We would be grateful if you could bring any cleaning products/ equipment with you on the day – polish, cloths, buckets, Dusters etc. Refreshments will be provided. If you've any queries please speak to Kevin Pearson or Richard de Beger.

 

RAINBOW CAFÉ will be open tomorrow between 10am and 12.30pm. Come and start your week with us and make new friends! Hot tasty snacks, cakes and drinks served at very reasonable prices. The BOOK CLUB will also meet tomorrow from 10.30am. Everyone welcome!

 

HOME GROUPS meet Wednesday/Thursday evenings this week. If you would like to be in a group, contact Geoff Belton or a Group Leader – details on Link Noticeboard.

MONTHLY MISSION FOCUS As part of our GAP objectives we are going to be focussing on a different mission organisation each month. As part of this focus we will occasionally be inviting visiting speakers and hosting special events to help us all appreciate more the work these organisations do.  This month the focus is on FAIRTRADE, please remember to pray for the work of Fairtrade and the people they are helping.

Please take a look at the display in the link, which shows the missions we will be focusing on this year, and look out for the special displays that will be appearing throughout the year. Mission Support Team

 

THE FAIRTRADE STALL is open today after the St. Mark's Services. Do come and browse and buy and pick up the new catalogue for Spring/ Summer.

 

LENT COURSE The 3rd evening is this Tuesday 9th March at 7.30pm at Saltney Methodist Church on the High St. Please consider coming and joining in with other Christians across the community – you'll enjoy it!

 

THE THURSDAY INTERCESSION GROUP will meet again at the time of 1pm this Thursday in Trevor's office. Do feel very welcome to join us as we pray for our churches, our parish and beyond!

 

CAMEO ON THURSDAY 11 th MARCH 2pm – ‘ POTTY ON POETRY!' Another afternoon of varied verse! Please bring along your own favourite or newly-discovered poems. If you feel inspired, try your hand at writing a 4 line verse on one of these subjects: Dogs, Kids, Food or Weather. There's a small prize for the best poem. Or do none of the above – just come and enjoy! Everyone welcome.

 

OUR ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING will be held on Monday 22 nd March and is open for all members to attend. It gives you the opportunity to hear more of the life of the church, to receive an Annual Report, to learn about the financial situation and to vote for your churchwardens and 5 PCC members. Those who have completed their term of three years are Helen Elsley, Graham Willson, Leslie Ingram, David Wilson and Patrick Hill. If you wish to nominate them or anyone else please use the sheets on the Screens.

THE KNIT & NATTER & CRAFT GROUP will meet again next Saturday 13th March from 2pm – 4pm. Everyone is welcome, just bring yourself – wool and craft stuff is provided.

This is also The Mothers' Union "Wave of Prayer" day. If any M.U. members attending this group would like to come earlier at 1.30pm, we will be reading through the "Wave of Prayer" leaflet. Make a Mothers Day There is a Mothers' Union "Make a Mothers Day" website where you can buy ethical gifts for Mothering Sunday. Link Up “@ The Throne" PRAYER GATHERING will NEXT take place on Sunday March 21st at 6.30pm at the Northgate Church Building. Our theme for the evening will be "Government - National and Local Issues...With the General Election looking very likely to take place in May and all the changes taking place with Cheshire West and Chester, the Leadership Team thought it would be good to bring this as a focus for prayer together. We are going to invite some local politicians and also the Chester MP Christian Russell for the first 30mins. There will not be an evening service here that night

 

ELECTORAL ROLL At this time of year we review our Electoral Roll. This is our official membership, and we encourage everyone, who has made St. Mark's their place of worship, to complete a simple form. These can be found on the Link table. Once completed, please put them in the pigeon hole for Joan Buchanan. Thank you.

 

WEEKLY OFFERING ENVELOPES The envelopes for the coming year will be available NEXT WEEK, and many thanks to those who already give through this method. Anyone wishing to know more about the envelope scheme, or Gift Aid (which increases every £1 to £1.25 if you are a tax payer) please contact Tony Slade (10.45 or 674668).
