A WARM WELCOME to everyone today, especially if you have come for the first time. We hope that you will enjoy worshipping with us today. Please feel free to join us after the services for a drink and a chat! A special welcome is extended to the juniors and their families from Saltney Ferry Primary School, who are joining us this morning.

 

ST MARK'S KIDZ KLUB (SMKK) is a follow-on from the Seaside Rock Holiday Club, which was held here after Easter. The next Klub will be held on Sunday 20 th July from 10.40am until 11.50am in the hall and is open to all children aged 5 – 11. Put 20 th July in your diary and come along and join in the “Junior Heroes” fun! Registration Forms are on the Welcome Desk .

 

ALL YOUNG SUNDAY CHILDREN AND PATHFINDERS On Sunday 20 th July, as well as being a SMKK special, it is also our annual prize giving service at 10.45. Make sure that you are there to receive your gift from your group leader!

 

THE FAIRTRADE STALL will be open after the services at St. Mark's today. Do come and browse and buy!

 

NEXT SUNDAY 13 th JULY we will not be holding an evening service at St. Mark's. Instead a Saltney Churches Together service will be taking place at St. Anthony's School at 6.30pm. Before the service there will be a Prayer walk, starting at St. Clare's at 5pm. Do take the opportunity to come together with other local congregations for this event. Also taking place next Sunday evening is an At the Throne, Link-up churches service at Northgate at 6.30pm, should you wish to go to that.

 

ALINE & JOHN   On Sunday 27th July it will be Aline and John's last Sunday with us. Some of you have asked me about contributing to a leaving gift, so we are saying that if you wish to make a gift, please pass on any donation you would like to make to the Wardens, Richard or Sylvia before the 13th July. Or you could put your gift in an envelope clearly marked in the Treasurer's pigeon-hole. Thank you! We are holding a leaving “do” for Aline and John after the 10.45 service on 20 th July at around 12.15/ 12.30pm. Please put your name on the list in the Link or at the Lighthouse, so that we can have an idea of numbers for catering. Thank you.

 

Text Box:  CHESTERFEST is happening from Monday July 21st to Sunday 28th, with the Funday in Hoole being on Sunday 28 th . The week is now only 3 weeks away. Please hold the event in your prayers, whilst the final preparations are being made.

 

RAINBOW CAFÉ will be open tomorrow between 10am and 12.30pm. Come and start your week with us and make new friends! Hot tasty snacks, cakes and drinks served at very reasonable prices. Why not try us for a Monday brunch?

 

TUESDAY MORNING PRAYER GROUP will meet this week at 10am in Trevor's Office for 1 hour. If you are available at that time, please come and pray with us for the Church, its community and our world.

 

HOME GROUPS run on Weds and Thurs evenings. Home groups offer

the opportunity to further study God's word together and to pray and get to

know one another. If you would like to be part of a Home Group, please contact Geoff Belton on 660688.

 

CAMEO will meet this Thursday and this week we are holding our annual “Strawberry Tea” at Lynda Tiplady's house. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH AT 2pm. We are in desparate need of help with lifts. THE GERMAN STUDENTS from Lorrach have now arranged commercial accommodation in Chester and will be here from Wednesday 9 th July to Tuesday 15 th July. They have a programme arranged, which includes coming to St. Mark's for our 10.45 service next Sunday 13 th . There are already plans for a Pathfinder social time on this Sunday before they finish for the summer and the leaders have kindly offered to include the 32 German students who are around 14 yrs old. Later they will be having lunch in the Link and if anyone would like to join them will they please give their name to Maggie in the office, so that we can make catering arrangements. ALIVE AND KICKING '08 Chesterfest, in Association with Crossway FC, would like to invite you come to an evening with John Boyers, Chaplain of Man Utd, on Friday 25 th July from 7.30 – 11pm at the Function Suite at Chester City Football Club. Also, during the evening, they will be holding “A Question of Sport”, a buffet supper, a charity raffle (with a ball signed by Michael Owen) and a bar will be open.
